Here is another awesome post from our Phoenix contributor Vikki!
I recently made a visit to the Disney Store Outlet in Tempe (in Arizona Mills on the southeast side) to scout out holiday gift ideas for the Disney fans on your shopping list. Maybe there’s even something for you!
How can you not love shopping at a store with a giant Mickey-shaped wreath … with hidden Mickeys inside?
The Disney Store Outlet outlet has many of the same products as a regular Disney Store or disneystore.com — all of the latest princess swag (Brave merchandise was 30 percent off when I shopped), the ever-present racks of Cars and Toy Story gadgets, and items from new lines like Wreck-It Ralph. Even better are the numerous clearance racks with pieces that would make great presents.
Costumes like Jessie or Minnie were marked down to $20-$25 from their original $40. They would make great gifts for dress-up play (or to save for next Halloween).
You know your kids will beg for a new T-shirt if you’re making a holiday Disneyland visit. Find a Disney shirt (Christmas or otherwise) at the outlet for about half of what you’ll end up paying in the park.
Or would you rather commemorate this year’s visit with a 2012 magnet or keychain? They fit nicely into stockings, and most of them are marked down from $9 to $3.
Trying to convince your little one to eat his “hot dog, hot dog, hot diggity dog?” Maybe he’d be happier dining on Disney tableware. The outlet has several aisles full of themed dishes. A gift bag filled with a straw cup, plate, and utensil set featuring his favorite character would surely bring a smile to even Grumpy!
These round racks are full of clever little gizmos for stockings or car trips, themed to their favorite princess or movie character.
I adore this tower of small plush! At 2 for $16, who could resist? I can already envision Stitch’s head poking out of my son’s stocking! The best part is the wide selection of characters — just in the picture above you can see Suzy (mouse from Cinderella), Stitch, Peach (Finding Nemo’s starfish), Panchito (Three Caballeros), Lotso (Toy Story 3), and below them, Pascal, Tiana, and others I couldn’t fit in one frame!
I highly recommend putting the Disney Store Outlet on your list and checking it twice!
Vikki was raised near Disneyland but settled in Mesa. She is always plotting her next Disney trip and slowly brainwashing her four children into loving a certain Mouse.
